In the past couple days of class we have learned about many things introducing us into WWI. I really enjoyed the golden colored sheet that was handed out listing all the information leading up to World War One. My favorite or rather most interesting thing that I read was the article on Arch Duke Frans Ferdinand. What an odd turn of events! Talk about a series of improbable bad luck for Ferdinand which leads to one of the worst disasters in history!
Mrs. Brunell conducted our class today and we really missed Maz. I really liked the power point that she created and how we got an outline for notes =). The pictures and sound effects (Although sometimes very repulsive [Trench Foot]) really added a nice touch to the powerpoint. Trench War far I found very interesting. This was a Tactic that looked to be outdated (with the new weaponry created) but ended up being a very complex fighting system that in the beginning looked promising. It worked for a little but than when the Germans incorporated gases that were very lethal and low laying the trenches were forced to be evacuated. This is the point were we learned that the invention of gas masks were used so that you did not have to cover their face with pee soaked rags. YUCK!
