WWI Works of Art

I really enjoy this picture and how it relates to the advances during WWI. The Germans went very far advancing technologically during the war, and many of their advances are shown in this picture. In the main part of the picture you can see a blimp or Zeppelin which was not introduced until WWI. Behind the zeppelin you can see many planes which were upgraded greatly in this time period and even behind that you can see planes in the air, showing the new idea of "god fighting". Also I can see what seems to be a German ship in the middle it is very vague and may not be that but it seems like a good fit to this picture. I really enjoyed this picture and how it showed how the war advanced every country technically.

Liberty Plane at the Front

Out of all of the pictures I think this one was my favorite. Artistically I loved the bright colors that make everything pop, I love the attention to detail and the depiction of war and emotions. In relation to WWI this picture does wonders! This picture shows everything from the new DH4 planes that were being flown and how they worked to the life in the trench. By the scared soldiers, the swampy waters, the smoke and the disorganization, you can see how in WWI bacteria was rapid, soldiers were unprepared mentally and that the trench's (the main fighting tactic) were a horrible morbid place to be.

This picture reminded me of the power point that was showed to us by Ms. Brunell. This picture shows three very scary, morbid figures of death wearing gas masks. This picture explains the war in many ways I believe. The gas masks show how the advances in gases brought new tactics to trench war fare and brought death and destruction to thousands of soldiers and usually very painfully. This soldiers also seem to be distorted and with weapons. This shows how scary that the battle field was and how the gases distorted you and almost always lead to pain and suffering.
